My name is Brian Gardiner. The edit is of my 14 year old ski season(2013-2014). I ski at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid New York for the New York Ski Educational Foundation(NYSEF). I am a freestyle athlete, and compete in Moguls, Slopestyle, Big Air, and Rail Jam. In the summer I train at the Olympic Training Center ramps in Lake Placid.
I was able to accomplish all of my goals from last season - at USSA East Coast Jr Championships I came in 1st in Slopestyle and won the Overall (Slopestyle/Moguls/Big Air). I also finished in top 3 in both Moguls (3rd) and Big Air (2nd). At USASA Nationals my goal was to be in the top 20, and I just missed the top ten coming in 11th. I also came in 3rd at and Eastern Free tour event at Okemo by landing a switch 10 on my 2nd run.
A lot of people helped me this year. I couldn't have done it without them. First off I want to thank my coaches. They taught me a lot this year and that all led to me doing very well in USSA and USASA competitions. Thanks to all of the companies and shops that helped me out this year. Rossignol for helping me out with skis and bindings, Maui North with ski and boot repairs and Suburban Ski and Bike Shop for helping me out with my Full Tilt boots. Smith Optics support with helmets and especially goggles was very helpful with the changing conditions during events. Flylow outwear and Eloi Supply for providing great clothing for on and off the slopes. Finally, Whiteface Mountain made a huge jump at the end of the season that helped get me ready for Nationals..
My goal for my next season is to continue to land bigger and better tricks. This summer I'm going to Vancouver BC to train at Momentum. I hope to land my 1st double on snow. Later in the summer I will be back at Lake Placid working on a dub cork 10 at ramps and once we get back to the Air Bag in early December, I will begin to work on switch cork 5, 7 and 9.
For competitions next year I will continue to focus on Eastern Free tour events in USSA, with a goal of making Jr Nationals. I will try to get to Seven Springs for the Rev Tour. Also, I hope to do enough USASA events that I will qualify for Nationals. If I qualify for USASA Nationals my goal would be to come in top 5 in the 13-15 age group for Slopestyle.
Thank you for watching my video, and comments, feedback, and constructive critiques are always welcome. Please email me with any questions, or comments, at - [email protected].

Brian Gardiner
